TRAVEL DISRUPTION

Due to localised flooding on Friday 20th, rail lines between Bristol Temple Meads via Bath Spa and Swindon and Bristol Parkway/South Wales and Swindon are closed. Routes between Gloucester and London are also closed so there are currently no diversionary routes. For fans planning on travelling by rail for the game, please be aware that the severe weather may impact rail lines over the weekend. For the latest journey information, please look at www.gwr.com/check ,[4] www.journeycheck.com/crosscountry/[5] or www.nationalrail.com[6].

Fans cycling to the game against Arsenal on Sunday (October 22nd, 5.30pm) can benefit from free minor repairs to their bike to ensure it is roadworthy and running smoothly.

The Dr Bike scheme, in collaboration with Bristol City Council, will take place at the stadium cycle racks behind the South Stand turnstiles from 5.30pm.

A qualified cycle mechanic will work before kick-off and throughout the game to work on as many bikes as possible on a first-come first-served basis so fans wishing to take advantage are encouraged to arrive early.

Each bike will receive up to 30 minutes of TLC. The mechanic will perform safety checks and carry out essential repairs such as fixing breaks, mending punctures and tuning gears. The team will also give you a ‘prescription’ with details of any larger works which need to be taken to a local bike shop for full repairs.

Ashton Gate has 96 cycle parking spaces and a free to use bike pump behind the South Stand. To see cycle parking locations and plan your bike trip to Ashton Gate please click here[14].

There are also convenient bins located around the stadium. Play your part and segregate your waste!

  • Red bins across Ashton Gate are for clean plastic waste only. Please place your empty cups (including self-destruct cups), bottles and other plastic in these
  • White bins will be for non-plastics only. This waste will be segregated off-site and recycled where possible with any non-recyclable materials converted into energy

RUCKSACKS

Ashton Gate Stadium asks supporters not to bring large rucksacks on matchdays, following advice from the National Counter Terrorism Office and Avon and Somerset Police.

Fans will still be able to bring smaller handbags into the stadium, although these will be subject to the usual search process.

An Ashton Gate spokesman said: “The searching process will always be subject to change and whilst there is no specific threat to any Sports Ground, we must ensure that we remain vigilant and the message to spectators is to ‘Be Alert not Alarmed’.”

SAFETY, SECURITY, POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS FLAGS

The Stadium has been directed by the EFL that any Israeli or Palestinian flags, or those with a political or religious message, will not be permitted and if displayed will be removed.

The use of smoke bombs, flares and pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited. Any of our supporters found in possession or setting off a pyrotechnic device (or such methods) will be subject of a minimum three year ban from Ashton Gate and any conviction at court will result in a football banning order for all grounds for three years.
